How to Apply

The MTA cooperates with several local agencies to provide Door-Through-Door transportation to seniors 60 and older who have difficulty getting in and out of vehicles and buildings and, cannot make the trip without extra support. To qualify you must...

Be certified by a participating agency
Simply contact the agency
A representative will visit your home to determine your needs
Upon certification, Door-Through-Door transportation will be provided an no additional cost to you.

Choose any of the following convenient agencies for certification for Door-through-Door service:

Jewish Community Services:
This service evaluates persons who require medical services which are unavailable in Genesee County. Transportation is provided to locations outside the county through the agency's Highway to Health program.

Valley Area Agency on Aging:
This agency identifies the greatest needs of older adults and persons with disabilities and prepares plans for meeting those needs through an array of home and community services ranging from adult day care to health screenings and legal assistance.

Center for Gerontology
The Center for Gerontology's mission is to identify and support the needs of our area's older adults and their caregivers. We offer assistance to the older adult in caring, compassionate setting, and treating each as an individual with unique needs and wants.

Genesee County Community Action Resource Department
GCCARD is an organization whose overall goal is to eliminate barriers and level the playing field for the poor, seniors, children and the hard to serve population of Flint and Genesee County. Realizing that those served often turn to GCCARD as their last hope.
