Transfers

Transfers are issued to provide continuous trips between two points not served by a single line, and they are to be used by the person to whom they were issued.

The MTA transfer policy is as follows:

  • Transfers are issued on all inbound trips and outbound trips from downtown.
  • No transfer may be used on the same line from which it was issued.
  • All transfers must be used within forty-five minutes from the time of issuance.
  • Transfer from Primary route to Your Ride and from Your Ride to Primary route for ten cents.
  • Transfers between Your Ride & Fixed Route
  • Passengers transferring from Your Ride service to the fixed route system pay a $0.10 transfer fee. This is good for a transfer. Any additional transfers within that trip are required to pay the full fare.
  • Only passengers transferring between the Genesee Valley and the new ITT pay a ten cent transfer fee in each direction. All other passengers pay one fare, and may purchase a transfer for $0.10.
  • System wide passes are available at MTA Customer Service and at Your Ride Service Centers.

For questions or more information, call the MTA Customer Service Department at (810) 767-0100.

This is approved when the school and the MTA have an agreement allowing students to use the MTA services for after school activities.
