Service Bulletin, Primary Route Modifications (Effective October 5, 2026)

To be more efficient and provide better service for our passengers, MTA will be making the following Primary Route modifications effective on Monday October 5, 2026.

1. 1. Route 3 – Miller-Linden: Route 3 Miller-Linden will now be serviced by 3 buses with a bus starting downtown at the MTA Transfer Center, one on Miller Rd. at Summerset Salon, and one at Sam’s Club/Walmart. The start times will be staggered, allowing more time for the inbound route 3 bus from Sam’s Club/Walmart to have more time to get downtown. This should help improve on-time performance and keep our passengers moving along this route. The 3 buses will run until 6:30 PM Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be serviced by 2 buses using the schedule that is in place today on the weekdays making it easier and more convenient to ride route 3 on the weekends.
   2. Route 3A – Linden-Pierson: Route 3A Linden- Pierson start times, Monday through Friday, will be adjusted to align with the new schedule of route 3 departing Sam’s Club to ensure transfers can be made. Saturday and Sunday schedules will remain as they are today.
   3. Route 4/5 – Civic Park-Dupont: In order to improve the on-time performance of the route, the end of the line will be moving to Dupont at Pierson giving the bus a shorter inbound stretch. This change does not alter the route in any way or affect the timing.
   4. Route 8 – South Saginaw: In order to improve on-time performance on the weekends, this route will be serviced by 2 buses running on a 1 hour schedule each way. The buses will start at different times with the Henry Ford Genesys bus starting at 6:30 AM and the bus at the MTA Transfer Center starting at 6:40 AM on Saturday mornings, and 9:30 AM and 9:40 AM on Sunday mornings. It will run this schedule until 6:30 PM when it will go down to 1 bus running a 1 hour schedule. While this will result in some holds, it will also result in the bus being on time for your connections at the MTA Transfer Center making it reliable for your weekend travel.
   5. Route 12 – Beecher-Corunna: Due to low ridership and to improve on-time performance of the route, MTA will be altering the route to remove part of Bradley Ave. and Sunset Dr. The bus will now travel on the outbound portion as it is coming down Court St. It will turn left onto Bradley Ave., then left onto Mansfield Ave., then right onto Beecher which will take the bus directly through the heart of the neighborhood making it more accessible to passengers in the area.

Westcombe at Beecher will be relocated across Westcombe to the southeast of where it is today.

Additional stops may be added along Beecher in the area as the need arises.

Extended Customer Service Hours – Evenings (Effective Wednesday, September 2)

The MTA Northrup-Abrams Transportation Center Customer Service Window will offer extended evening hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays to better serve our customers, passengers, and the community. This will start on Wednesday, September 2. The extended hours on Wednesdays will be 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm and the extended hours on Thursdays will be from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The extended hours apply only to the Customer Service Window. The Office hours will remain unchanged.

The full list of new hours for the Customer Service Window is as follows.

• Mondays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Tuesdays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Wednesdays, 8:00 am -7:30 pm
• Thursdays, 8:00 am- 9:30 pm
• Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Service Bulletin, MTA Closed on Labor Day
(Effective Monday, September 7 – Labor Day Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Monday, September 7 so that MTA employees can enjoy the Labor Day holiday with their families. This includes Genesee Connect and service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular hours on Tuesday, September 8.

Temporary Service Shift from Transportation Center to Southwestern Classical Academy (W 12th Street) 
(Effective August 22, 2026, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm)

Due to street closures for the Crim Festival of Races on Saturday, August 22, MTA will be temporarily shifting its Fixed Route services that day from the Downtown Flint Transportation Center at 615 Harrison Street to Southwestern Classical Academy located at 1420 W 12th Street in Flint. The temporary shift will run from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm on August 22.

This temporary service shift is for our Primary Route and Regional Route buses. Customers will be able to park in the parking lot at Southwestern Classical Academy. Also, a free shuttle service will be available during that time offering rides from the Transportation Center to Southwestern Classical Academy as well as from Southwestern Classical Academy to the Transportation Center. The shuttle will run every hour on schedule with the buses. Customers can access the shuttle at Wallenberg and 3rd Street and at 1420 W 12th Street.

Service Bulletin, Route 8 Walmart Stop Relocation (Effective Monday August 3, 2026)

In coordination with Walmart management on S. Saginaw Rd. in Grand Blanc, MTA will be relocating the current Route 8 Walmart stop back to its original location on the east side of the Walmart building. This is effective Monday, August 3, 2026. Both Walmart and MTA reviewed customer feedback and felt that this was in the best interest of those who ride the bus. The outbound bus will still come off Dort Highway but will go behind Walmart. On the inbound, the bus will come in off S. Saginaw Rd. pull through to Dort Highway, turn right and then turn right into the service drive behind Walmart to pull around to the stop. Because of this inbound change we are removing the hold at Henry Ford Hospital allowing for additional time to get to the Walmart stop. We have also adjusted the timepoint at Walmart to ensure the bus keeps moving to maintain timely arrivals downtown. Please find the maps and adjusted timetables below.

Service Bulletin, Free Fare Day to Vote Fixed Route and Your Ride Services (August 4, 2026 – Primary Election Day)

To assist our community and customers with their transportation needs to vote on primary election day, August 4, 2026, MTA will be providing free rides to voting locations that day for our local Fixed Route and Your Ride passengers. MTA plays a vital role in providing transportation for our community, and to help increase accessibility to voting polls, we are offering a special primary election Free Fare Day to Vote. The Free Fare Day only applies for rides to voting locations within Genesee County.

The Free Fare Day to Vote is for MTA’s local Fixed Route and Your Ride services and will be honored until 8:00 pm on August 4. Certain limitations could apply, and general transportation guidelines and eligibility criteria for each service will remain in place. Individuals eligible to use Your Ride will have to schedule a ride for that day at least one day in advance by calling (810) 767-5541. Fixed Route buses will be following their normal routes and schedules. MTA is glad to be able to offer some of our services fare free to voting locations on August 4 to help the community exercise their right to vote.

(4 de agosto de 2026 – Día de las elecciones primarias)

Para ayudar a nuestra comunidad y a nuestros usuarios con sus necesidades de transporte para votar el día de las elecciones primarias, el 4 de agosto de 2026, la MTA ofrecerá viajes gratuitos a los centros de votación ese día para los pasajeros de nuestras rutas fijas y de Your Ride. La MTA desempeña un papel fundamental en el transporte de nuestra comunidad y, para facilitar el acceso a los centros de votación, ofrecemos un día especial de transporte gratuito para votar durante las elecciones primarias. Este día de transporte gratuito solo aplica a los viajes a los centros de votación dentro del condado de Genesee.

Service Bulletin, Route 3 Miller Linden Bus Stop Changes (Effective July 13, 2026)

Effective Monday, July 13, 2026, MTA will be removing two bus stops from Primary Route 3 – Miller Linden. The first stop is west bound at Chick-fil-A on Miller Rd. at Austins Parkway. For those wishing to go to Chick-fil-A or Austins Parkway, there is a stop just a few hundred feet back with a shelter at Miller West Apartments. The MTA buses have encountered many delays recently along Miller Rd. due to the traffic lights particularly at Austins Parkway and removing that stop will help keep the bus and traffic moving at those lights. The second stop being removed is at the Sunoco station on Miller Rd. at Claude Ave. There is a stop right next door at Starbucks, so we are removing this stop in an effort to be more efficient and remove duplication. We do not anticipate any changes to the schedule at this time. See maps below.

Service Bulletin, MTA Closed on the Fourth of July (Effective Saturday, July 4th – Fourth of July Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Saturday, July 4 so that MTA employees can enjoy the Fourth of July holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. Services that run on Sundays will be in operation during regular hours on Sunday, July 5.

Service Bulletin, South Saginaw Route 8 – Sam’s Club Bus Stop Relocation (Effective May 18, 2026)

Effective Monday, May 18, 2026, MTA will be relocating the bus stop at the current Sam’s Club stop in Grand Blanc. The new stop will be located in the outer Walmart parking lot per Sam’s Club/Walmart Management and will force a slight change to the route and other bus stops. As the outbound bus comes down Saginaw Rd., it will now turn right down Dort Highway and then left into Walmart to save time getting to the stop. It will then exit Walmart as it does today onto Saginaw Rd. and continue the normal route. The inbound route will do the opposite as it will come in off Saginaw Rd. and exit onto Dort Highway. The following stops below will be affected. We do not anticipate any changes at this time to the schedule.

1. The outbound Saginaw at Hill Rd. stop will be moved over to Dort Highway.
2. The outbound Saginaw at Edwards stop will be removed as will the inbound stop at Saginaw and Edwards.
3. The inbound Saginaw at Hill Rd. stop will be moved over to Dort Highway.
4. The inbound Saginaw at Dort Highway stop will be removed.

Service Bulletin, MTA Closed on Memorial Day (Effective Monday, May 25 – Memorial Day Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, so that MTA employees can enjoy the Memorial Day holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular hours on Tuesday, May 26.

Service Bulletin, Howell and Brighton Regional Route Changes (Effective May 4, 2026)

To reflect changes at some existing destinations and to ensure timeliness, MTA will be updating the stops and schedules of our Regional Routes to Howell and Brighton effective on Monday, May 4, 2026. Changes include:

• Removal of the bus stop at 3rd St and Chavez Dr. See map below. All departures in Flint will be at the MTA Northrup-Abrams Transportation Center (615 Harrison St) in Bus Bay 6 or outside along Wallenberg Street.
  
  • All arrivals in Flint will be at the MTA Northrup-Abrams Transportation Center (615 Harrison St) in Bus Bay 6, or at the 2nd Street at Stevens bus stop after 10:30 PM.
• Replacement of the Thomson Plastics bus stop in Howell with a new by-request stop at Kensington Valley Outlets (1475 N Burkhart Rd, Howell, MI, 48855).
  
  • Arrivals and departures will occur at the Tour Bus stop on the northwest side of the plaza in the middle of the parking lot. See map below.
• Slight adjustments to departure and arrival times listed on timetables to improve accuracy.

Service Bulletin, Route 2 MLK & Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby Changes (Effective May 4, 2026)

To improve transportation efficiency and service delivery, MTA will be changing Inbound Route 2 MLK and Outbound/Inbound Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby for trips Monday through Saturday after 6:30 PM and all of Sunday service, effective on Monday, May 4, 2026. Please refer to the new maps and timetables attached.

Service Bulletin, Miller-Linden Route 3 – Stop Relocation (Effective April 6, 2026)

In coordination with our community partners, MTA will be relocating the current Route 3 inbound stop on Linden Rd. near Gaines Jewelry and Complete Runner. The stop will be relocated just a little north, closer to the light near Buffalo Wild Wings. The new location will be made effective on Monday, April 6, 2026. This change does not affect the route timing and still allows access to Oak Brook Square. Please see map below for details.

Service Bulletin, South Saginaw Route 8 – Time Schedule Changes (Effective March 9, 2026)

To improve transportation efficiency and service delivery, MTA will be changing Route 8 bus arrival and departure times at Henry Ford Genesys and Sam’s Club stops in Grand Blanc effective on Monday, March 9, 2026. The new schedule can be found below, with the changes highlighted. This will only affect weekday times after 6:30 PM and weekend services when only one bus is on the route. The changes will help ensure timely transportation for our passengers.
