Service Bulletin, MTA Closed on Thanksgiving Day
(Effective Thursday, November 28 – Thanksgiving Day)

All MTA services will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28, 2024) so that MTA employees can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular business hours on Friday, November 29.

Service Bulletin, Primary Route #15 Dort/Averill
Temporary Sunday Service

(November 17, 2024)

To better accommodate the transportation needs of passengers, MTA is adding Sunday service to its #15 Dort/Averill bus route effective Sunday, November 17. The added Sunday service will continue through 2024 with the option of ending, continuing or making permanent in 2025. Currently, Dort/Averill bus service runs Monday through Saturday. Following is the Sunday Dort/Averill time schedule that will start on November 17.

Service Bulletin, Free Fare Day to Vote
Fixed Route and Your Ride Services
(November 5, 2024 – Election Day)

To help serve our community with their transportation needs to voting locations on election day, MTA is providing a Free Fare Day, November 5, 2024, for our Fixed Route and Your Ride services. MTA plays a vital role in providing transportation for our community, and to help increase accessibility to voting, we are offering a Free Fare Day. The Free Fare Day only applies for rides to voting locations within Genesee County.

The Free Fare Day is for MTA’s Fixed Route and Your Ride services and will be honored during normal business hours on November 5. Certain limitations could apply, and general transportation guidelines and eligibility criteria for each service will remain in place. Individuals eligible to use Your Ride will have to schedule a ride for that day at least 24 hours in advance by calling (810) 767-5541. Fixed Route buses will be following their normal routes and schedules.

MTA is glad to be able to offer Free Fare Day on November 5 to help the community exercise their right to vote.

Service Bulletin, MTA Closed on Labor Day
(Effective Monday, September 2 – Labor Day Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Monday, September 2 so that MTA employees can enjoy the Labor Day holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular hours on Tuesday, September 3.

Service Bulletin, Temporary Service Shift from Transportation Center to Crapo Streets (Old Central High School)
(Effective August 24, 2024, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm)

Due to street closures for the Crim Festival of Races on Saturday, August 24, MTA will be temporarily shifting its Fixed Route services that day from the Downtown Flint Transportation Center at 615 Harrison Street to 601 Crapo Street (old Central High School). The temporary shift will run from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm on August 24.

This temporary service shift is for our Primary Route and Regional Route buses. Customers will be able to park in the parking lot at the old Central High School. Also, a free shuttle service will be available during that time offering rides from the Transportation Center to Crapo Street as well as from Crapo Street to the Transportation Center. The shuttle will run every hour on schedule with the buses. Customers can access the shuttle at Wallenberg and 3rd Street and at 601 Crapo Street.

Service Bulletin, Fenton Trolley Service

(Effective May 30, 2024)

A service using the MTA Trolley will begin in Fenton effective May 30. The Fenton Trolley Service will offer a convenient and eco-friendly transportation option for the Fenton area. The Trolley Service will be fare free and run through October.


Following is the Fenton Trolley Service schedule.
• Thursdays and Fridays 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• Saturdays 11:00 am to 11:00 pm


Designated bus stops have been set up along the Fenton Trolley route. Below shows the route and bus stop locations.

 

During the month of June, Fenton Trolley service change recommendations can be submitted for review and consideration. All service recommendations, as well as any questions, may be submitted by contacting Customer Service at (810) 767-0100 or visiting www.mtaflint.org/contact/.

Service Bulletin – Primary Route #3 Miller-Linden
(Effective Week of May 6, 2024)

To improve efficiency and better accommodate passenger needs, adjustments will be made to the Miller-Linden bus route effective May 6, 2024. Following are the adjustments that will be made to the Miller-Linden outbound and inbound routes.

Outbound Route Change:

At the Miller and Linden intersection, the bus will continue on Miller Rd instead of turning right on Linden Rd. The bus will travel to Bristol Rd. and then make a left onto Bristol Rd. From there it will turn left onto Linden Rd. and continue the route as usual.

Inbound Route Change:

Upon departing Genesee Valley on Linden Rd., the bus will travel on Linden Rd. and instead of turning left on Miller Rd., it will continue straight on Linden Rd. until Bristol Rd. From there the bus will make a right onto Bristol Rd., followed by a right onto Miller Rd. The bus will then continue its regular route.

Service Bulletin –  Primary Route #4 Civic Park
(Effective May 6, 2024)

To streamline our services and improve overall passenger experience, the Civic Park bus route will be adjusted effective May 6, 2024. Below are the adjustments that will be made to the Civic Park outbound and inbound routes.

Outbound Route Change:

Instead of turning right onto Pierson Rd., the route will continue on Clio Rd. until Carpenter Rd. At Carpenter Rd., the bus will make a right turn, and this will serve as the end of the line for this direction.

Inbound Route Change:

From Carpenter Rd., the bus will make a right turn onto Fleming Rd., and then continue along the regular route as usual.

Service Bulletin – Primary Route #5 Dupont
(Effective May 6, 2024)

To improve efficiency and better accommodate passenger needs, adjustments will be made to the Dupont bus route effective May 6, 2024. Following are the adjustments that will be made to the Dupont outbound and inbound routes.

Outbound Route Change:

At the intersection of Clio and Stedron, instead of making a left turn onto Stedron Street, the bus will continue straight on Clio Road until Pierson Road. Upon reaching Pierson Road, the bus will make a left turn and utilize the bus bay as the end of the line.

Inbound Route Change:

Upon departing from the bus bay at Pierson Road, the inbound route will proceed as follows:

  • Make a left turn onto Fleming Road.
  • Then make a right turn onto Home Avenue.
  • The route will continue as normal from Home Avenue onwards.

Service Bulletin – Primary Route #10 Richfield Road
(Effective May 6, 2024)

To improve safety measures, the Richfield Road bus route will have some adjustments made to the route when servicing Courtland Center Mall. Adjustments will be made to the outbound and inbound routes effective May 6, 2024. Below are the adjustments.

Outbound Route Change:

Instead of turning right on Center Road at the Court and Center intersection, the bus will now continue on Court Street until Discount Tire where it will make a right. Following this, it will make another right behind Discount Tire and utilize the parking lot there.

Inbound Route Change:

Upon reaching Center and Court, the bus will make a left onto Court Street and continue on the same path as the outbound route, utilizing the parking lot behind Discount Tire.

Service Bulletin (2nd Update) – Primary Route Detours Richfield Road – #10 and Dort/Averill – #15
(Effective Week of April 22, 2024 – Updated START DATE)

MDOT has announced another delay to the start of the temporary work being performed on the culvert at M-54 (Dort Highway) and Court Street. The new start date is the week of April 22. Due to the work being performed, the #10 Richfield Road and #15 Dort/Averill bus routes will be detoured around that area effective the week of April 22. Service at some bus stops will be impacted. The culvert project is expected to last through October 2024.

The detoured bus routes are as follows.

Richfield Rd (#10) Route Detour:
Outbound: The Richfield bus will travel Chavez Dr., turn left onto E. 5th St, turn right on Lapeer Rd., and then left on S. Averill Ave. From there is will turn right onto Court St. and resume the route.

Upon Request – The outbound Richfield bus will service MTA Dort Hwy. (Indian Trails and Amtrak).

Inbound: After leaving Courtland Center, the bus will travel Court St., turn left onto S. Averill Ave., and turn right on Lapeer Rd. From there the bus will turn left onto Court St. and resume the route.

Dort/Averill (#15) Route Detour:
Outbound: The Dort/Averill bus will travel down Court St., turn left onto Franklin Ave., right onto Robert T. Longway, and then turn left onto Dort Hwy, and resume the route.

Inbound: The bus will travel down Dort Hwy, then turn right onto Robert T. Longway, left onto Franklin Ave., and right onto Court St., and resume the route.

Bus stops between Franklin Avenue and Averill Street will not be serviced during this closure period.

Bus Route 3: Miller Linden Adjustments (Effective January 8, 2024)

To better serve our passengers, there will be adjustments made to the #3 Miller Linden bus route, effective January 8, 2024. The service changes will enhance your commuting experience by improving safety.

The above map shows the new routes and the relocated bus stops, effective January 8.

Outbound Change: From Linden Road, the bus will make a right turn onto Taft Road. Instead of going to the bus stop in front of Walmart, the bus will make a left turn onto T A Mansour Blvd. and stop at the relocated bus stop. The route will continue by turning left on Corunna Road, right on Linden Road, and then proceed as usual.

Inbound Change: Instead of making a right turn onto Healthsource Blvd. from Linden Rd., the bus will now turn left onto Corunna Road at Linden Rd. The bus will then make a right turn onto T A Mansour Blvd. and stop at the relocated bus stop. The bus will then turn right on Taft Road, left on Linden Road, and then continue its regular course.

Bus Route 4: Civic Park Adjustments
(Effective January 8, 2024)

To enhance our passengers’ commuting experience, we are adjusting the #4 Civic Park outbound bus route, effective January 8, 2024.

Outbound Change: The outbound Civic Park bus route will be modified at the Clio Road and Pasadena Avenue intersection. Instead of turning right at that intersection, the bus will continue on Clio Rd. until Pierson Rd., where it will make a right turn, and then pull over into the bus bay.

The below map shows the new outbound route, effective January 8.

Inbound: No Change.

Bus Route 5: Dupont Adjustments
(Effective January 8, 2024)

To enhance our passengers’ commuting experience, we are adjusting the #5 Dupont bus route, effective January 8, 2024.

Outbound Change: The outbound Dupont route will be modified at the intersection of Clio Rd. and Stedron St. Instead of proceeding straight on Clio Rd., the bus will now take a left turn onto Stedron St., followed by a right onto Cloverlawn Dr., and then a right onto Pierson Rd. The bus will then make a right turn back onto Clio Rd. Upon reaching Carpenter Road, the bus will make a right turn, completing the outbound segment of the route. Below is a map showing the new outbound bus route, effective January 8.

Inbound: No Change.

Bus Route 9: Lapeer Rd Adjustments (Effective January 8, 2024)

To enhance your commuting experience, there will be some adjustments made to the #9 Lapeer Road inbound and outbound bus routes. Please be aware that the inbound and outbound bus routes will no longer be servicing Stonegate Dr. upon request. Instead, the inbound and outbound bus will stop at two new stops on Atherton Road for your convenience. The below map shows the discontinued Stonegate Dr. route and where the new bus stops will be placed, effective January 8.

Regional Routes 423 to Howell (Effective September 12, 2023 )

To better serve our passengers, two departure times of the Saturday Regional Bus Service 423 to Howell have been changed. The outbound bus will now depart from MTA at 9:45 PM and 4th and Chavez at 9:47 PM. Please see graphs below. All other departure and arrival times will stay the same.

Howell Regional Routes 409 and 420 (Effective August 7, 2023 )

To better serve our passengers, stops at the LETS Public Transportation facility in Livingston County (3950 W. Grand River Ave, Howell, MI 48855) will be added to Howell Regional Routes 409 and 420, effective August 7. Please see schedules below for times. Riders can coordinate further transportation using the LETS system from these stops.

#10 Richfield Road Bus Route Adjustments (Effective March 6, 2023)

To better serve our passengers, the #10 Richfield Road bus route will have adjustments made to its service effective Monday, March 6, 2023.

On the 7:00m am and 7:30 am Richfield Road outbound trips, the bus will travel to Northgate. The Richfield Road bus will only travel to Northgate during those designated times.

Below is the new Northgate Bus Stop, effective Monday, March 6th.
