SERVICE BULLETIN, MTA Closed on Memorial Day (Effective Monday, May 25 – Memorial Day Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, so that MTA employees can enjoy the Memorial Day holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular hours on Tuesday, May 26.

SERVICE BULLETIN, Howell and Brighton Regional Route Changes (Effective May 4, 2026)

To reflect changes at some existing destinations and to ensure timeliness, MTA will be updating the stops and schedules of our Regional Routes to Howell and Brighton effective on Monday, May 4, 2026. Changes include:

  • Removal of the bus stop at 3rd St and Chavez Dr. See map below. All departures in Flint will be at the MTA Northrup-Abrams Transportation Center (615 Harrison St) in Bus Bay 6 or outside along Wallenberg Street.
  • All arrivals in Flint will be at the MTA Northrup-Abrams Transportation Center (615 Harrison St) in Bus Bay 6, or at the 2nd Street at Stevens bus stop after 10:30 PM.
  • Replacement of the Thomson Plastics bus stop in Howell with a new by-request stop at Kensington Valley Outlets (1475 N Burkhart Rd, Howell, MI, 48855). Arrivals and departures will occur at the Tour Bus stop on the northwest side of the plaza in the middle of the parking lot. See map below.
  • Slight adjustments to departure and arrival times listed on timetables to improve accuracy.

SERVICE BULLETIN, Route 2 MLK & Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby Changes  (Effective May 4, 2026)

To improve transportation efficiency and service delivery, MTA will be changing Inbound Route 2 MLK and Outbound/Inbound Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby for trips Monday through Saturday after 6:30 PM and all of Sunday service, effective on Monday, May 4, 2026. Please refer to the new maps and timetables attached.

  • Route 2 MLK Inbound trips during these times will now depart from O’Brien and Coldwater 5 minutes before the hour. From there, buses will go east on Coldwater Road, turn left and head north on Saginaw Street, turn left and go west on Stanley Road, and finally turn left and head south on Detroit Street to resume the existing route and continue to the MTA Transfer Center. The final inbound trip will depart at 10:50 PM, complete this loop, and then go out of service for the evening. It will not continue to the MTA Transfer Center.
  • Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby Outbound trips will now end on Coldwater Road at the Genesee Health System building before Saginaw Street. For those traveling to stops no longer served beyond this point, including Rosewood Park Apartments, use Route 2 and remain onboard for Inbound service.
  • Route 7-6 Franklin/Lewis-Selby Inbound trips will now begin on Coldwater Road at the Genesee Health System building before Saginaw Street. Buses will then turn left and head south on Saginaw Street, turn left and go east on Carpenter Road, and then turn right on Selby Street to resume the existing route and continue to the MTA Transfer Center.

Miller-Linden Route 3 – Stop Relocation (Effective April 6, 2026)

In coordination with our community partners, MTA will be relocating the current Route 3 inbound stop on Linden Rd. near Gaines Jewelry and Complete Runner. The stop will be relocated just a little north, closer to the light near Buffalo Wild Wings. The new location will be made effective on Monday, April 6, 2026. This change does not affect the route timing and still allows access to Oak Brook Square. Please see map below for details.

Service Bulletin, South Saginaw Route 8 – Time Schedule Changes (Effective March 9, 2026)

To improve transportation efficiency and service delivery, MTA will be changing Route 8 bus arrival and departure times at Henry Ford Genesys and Sam’s Club stops in Grand Blanc effective on Monday, March 9, 2026. The new schedule can be found below, with the changes highlighted. This will only affect weekday times after 6:30 PM and weekend services when only one bus is on the route. The changes will help ensure timely transportation for our passengers.

Schedule: 6:30 am – 8:30 pm with the last inbound transfer bus leaving the end of the line at 7:00 pm. The last downtown transfers will be at 7:30 pm.

All MTA Services Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

The Mass Transportation Authority will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026, so that our employees can spend Christmas Day and New Year’s Day with their families. Normal service hours will resume on December 26 and January 2.
