MTA Closed on Memorial Day (Effective Monday, May 29 – Memorial Day Holiday)

All MTA services will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2023, so that MTA employees can enjoy the Memorial Day holiday with their families. This includes service to Great Lakes Crossing. All services will be in operation during regular hours on Tuesday, May 30.

Sunday Services Reinstatement of Regular Bus Fares (Effective May 1, 2023)

Effective Monday, May 1, 2023, MTA will be reinstating the regular bus fare structure for Sunday services for its Primary Route and Your Ride bus services. Regular bus fares and passes on Sundays for passengers using Primary Route service will be $1.75 one-way. Transfers will be $0.10. Regular bus fares and passes on Sundays for passengers using Your Ride will be $3.50 one-way. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Reduced Fare passengers using our Primary Route buses will be charged $0.85 and those using Your Ride will be charged $2.25.

#10 Richfield Road Bus Route Adjustments (Effective March 6, 2023)

To better serve our passengers, the #10 Richfield Road bus route will have adjustments made to its service effective Monday, March 6, 2023.

On the 7:00m am and 7:30 am Richfield Road outbound trips, the bus will travel to Northgate. The Richfield Road bus will only travel to Northgate during those designated times.

Below is the new Northgate Bus Stop, effective Monday, March 6th.

Your Ride and Rides to Wellness Service Alert (Effective February 22, 2023)

Due to weather conditions, the MTA Your Ride and Rides to Wellness services will be suspended starting at 2:00 pm today. All customers using the services before that time will receive their return trip. The safety of all our customers and employees is important to us. These services are scheduled to resume tomorrow (2/23) during normal business hours.

#10 Richfield Rd. Inbound Bus Adjustments (Effective February 13, 2023)

To better serve our passengers, the #10 Richfield Road bus route will have an adjustment made to its service effective Monday, February13, 2023.

During the hours of 6:30 am to 8:00 am and 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, the Richfield Road inbound only bus will now travel to Northgate when requested. Passengers must notify the driver during these hours if they must be transported to the Northgate bus stop. If a request is made during these hours, the bus will detour to Northgate where it will then resume the original route.

Below is the new Northgate Bus Stop, effective Monday, February 13.

The Richfield Road inbound bus will travel its regular route from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm to 10:50 pm. The Richfield Road outbound bus route will remain the same.

Primary Route service will end at 8:30 p.m. with the last inbound transfer bus leaving the end of the line at 7:00 p.m. The last downtown transfers will be at 7:30 p.m.

Brighton/Howell Regional Route Changes (Effective Monday, November 7, 2022)

To better accommodate our Regional Route passengers, the MTA has adjusted the stop patterns of the following Regional Routes: 407-Howell, 408-Howell, 419-Howell, and 513-Brighton. Effective November 7th, the new stop times for each route are listed below.

Free Fare Day Fixed Route and Your Ride Services (November 8, 2022 – Election Day)

To best serve our community and customers with their transportation needs on election day, MTA is providing a Free Fare Day on November 8, 2022, for our local Fixed Route and Your Ride services. MTA plays a vital role in providing transportation for our community, and to help increase accessibility to voting, we are offering a special election day Free Fare Day.

The Free Fare Day only applies to the MTA’s Fixed Route and Your Ride services and will be honored during normal business hours. Some limitations could apply, and general transportation guidelines and eligibility criteria for each service will remain in place. Individuals eligible to use Your Ride will have to schedule a ride for that day at least 24 hours in advance by calling (810) 767-5541. Fixed Route buses will be following their normal routes and schedules.

MTA is glad to be able to offer this service on November 8th to help the community exercise their right to vote.

#11 Fenton Rd Bus Route – Request Only Stops (Effective October 19)

To better serve our passengers, the #11 Fenton Road bus route will have adjustments made to the service provided at two bus stops effective October 19. The adjustments are as follows:

  1. Bishop Airport stops will be by Request Only and serviced only on the Outbound bus. Passengers will need to notify the driver if they need to be transported to this stop.
  2. Flint Southwestern Academy stops will be by Request Only and serviced only on the Inbound bus. Passengers will need to notify the driver if they need to be transported to this stop.

Primary Route #1 – North Saginaw Regular Route Resumes (Effective Immediately)

The temporary construction on Frances Road has ended, so the North Saginaw bus will resume its regular route effective immediately.

Customer Alert (Effective September 29, 2022)

Due to a scheduled power outage on Thursday, September 29, 2022, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, the MTA computers and phones may be out of service during this period. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have on customers. We are expecting service to be restored shortly after 12:00 PM.

#4 Civic Park Bus Route Adjustments (Effective October 1, 2022)

To improve the service for our passengers, the #4 Civic Park bus will no longer travel down Forest Hill Avenue effective October 1. Instead, the bus route will bypass Forest Hill Ave. and continue straight on Mackin Rd. The bus route will then turn right onto Ballenger Hwy., left onto Welch Blvd., and then rejoin the regular route at Clio Rd.

#6 Lewis Selby Outbound Bus Adjustments (Effective October 1, 2022)

To better serve our passengers, the #6 Lewis Selby outbound bus will no longer service the Cultural Center area effective October 1. Instead, the outbound Lewis Selby bus will turn left at the corner of East Kearsley Street and Crapo Street and right onto Cesar Chavez Drive, where it resumes its regular outbound route.

The inbound Lewis Selby bus route will continue to service the Cultural Center area as regularly scheduled.

#11 Fenton Rd Bus Route Adjustments (Effective October 1, 2022)

To better serve our passengers, the #11 Fenton Road bus route will have two adjustments made to its service effective October 1.

  1. The Fenton Road inbound bus will no longer travel onto Camden Avenue. Instead, the inbound bus will travel to South Grand Traverse and then to Bristol Road where it will resume the original route.
  2. During the hours of 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm stops at Bishop Airport and Flint Southwestern Academy will be by request only. Passengers will need to notify the driver during these request only hours if they need to be transported to these stops. Regularly scheduled bus stops at Bishop Airport and Flint Southwestern Academy will continue between the hours of 6:30 am through 8:30 am and 2:30 pm through 6:30 pm.

#12 Beecher Corunna Inbound Bus Adjustments (Effective October 1, 2022)

To better service our passengers, the #12 Beecher Corunna inbound bus will no longer service Bradley Hills area effective October 1. Instead, the inbound Beecher Corunna bus will turn right at the corner of Beecher Rd. and Ballenger Hwy. and continue towards Court Street, then right on Court Street and resume the regular route.

The outbound Beecher Corunna bus will continue to service the Bradley Hills area as scheduled.

Primary Route 3: Miller – Linden Miller Road Closed between Hammerberg and Ballenger

Beginning May 31, 2022, Miller Road will be closed between Hammerberg Rd. and Ballenger Hwy. due to construction. The MTA will not be servicing the bus stops on Miller Road between Hammerberg and Ballenger while the construction is in progress. Riders who need transit services for this area are encouraged to use Primary Route 12: Beecher – Corunna. The construction is expected to last through December 3, 2022.

Service Bulletin, Sunday Bus Fares – $1 each way (effective October 1, 2021)

As more and more businesses open up and services resume, the need for transportation increases. To assist, MTA will be charging only $1.00 each way for its Primary Route and Your Ride bus fares and passes on Sundays, effective October 1. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Reduced Fare passengers using our Primary Route buses will be charged $.85. There will be no charge for transfers for all passengers on Sundays. Monday through Saturday transportation services will continue to be at their regular prices. Free Sunday services will remain in effect through September 30.
